The competitions
Sherbaazi runs skill-based poetry competitions. Results depend only on how well a poem is written, judged against the published scoring guide. They are not games of chance, lotteries or betting. The competition rules are part of these terms.
Your account
You sign in with your email and a password. The first time, and if you forget your password, we send a one-time code to your email to confirm it is yours. Keep your password private. Give accurate details, including your name, phone number and UPI ID. We are not responsible for prizes sent to a wrong UPI ID you provided.
Payments
Entry fees are charged in Indian rupees and processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card or bank details. Fees are only refunded as set out in the refund policy.
Your poem and our permission to show it
- You keep the copyright of your poem.
- You confirm the poem is your original work, is not copied, and was not written by AI, and that publishing it won't break anyone else's rights.
- You give Sherbaazi a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to show winning poems in full, and short extracts of any entry, on our website, in emails and on social media, with your name. You can still publish your poem anywhere else.
Things you must not do
- Enter someone else's work, or poems written by AI.
- Enter more times than a competition allows, including by using other people's details.
- Interfere with the website, the judging, or other poets.
We may disqualify entries or close accounts that break these terms.
Limits of our responsibility
We work hard to keep the website running and the judging fair, but we can't promise the site will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any competition is limited to the entry fee you paid for it.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the bottom of this page shows the latest version. Changes don't affect a competition you have already paid to enter.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by the courts in [City, State].
